Ce roman est le préquel au tout dernier tome de la série des Winston Brothers qui sera sur Billy et Scarlett. Il raconte les quelques semaines qui ont changé la vie de deux ados très attachés l'un à l'autres et des circonstances malheureuses de leur séparation. Tout ce qui est raconté dans ce livre, on l'a déjà appris depuis le début de la série (mais bon si vous êtes comme moi et que vous oublié pas mal de détail, vous allez redécouvrir certains trucs).

Autant le dire d'emblée, ce livre est très émotionant xD si vous avez un petit coeur sensible comme moi, vous allez avoir des poussières plein les yeux assez souvent. En fait c'est simple dès qu'il se passe un truc, je pleure : revoir la fratrie Winston version ados/pré ados/enfant, pouf les yeux qui brillent xD ; première apparition de Bethany, pouf des larmes ; Billy et Scarlett qui se font des yeux doux, pouf des larmes etc... Je n'ai donc lu ce livre que lorsque j'étais chez moi, bien cachée sous mon plaid (même s'il faisait chaud). Je ne crois pas qu'un autre livre m'a fait autant pleurer, mais c'est peut-être parce que c'est une love story tragique et pas une romance, et qu'on sait déjà comment ça finit...

Encore une fois Penny Reid nous délivre un roman qui ne laisse pas indifférent, et il promet des retrouvailles dans Beard Necessities très chargées en émotion.

This novel is the prequel to the latest book of the Winston Brothers series, which will be about Billy and Scarlett. It tells the few weeks that changed the lives of two teenagers very attached to each other and the unfortunate circumstances of their separation. Everything told in this book is in the other books, from the beginning of the series (but if you are like me and you forgot a lot of details, you will rediscover some things).

Let me say it first : this book is very emotional xD if you have a touchy heart like me, you will have dust in your eyes quite often. It's simple, as soon as something happens, I cried : see the Winston siblings as teens/child, puffy eyes xD ; first appearance of Bethany, and I cried ; Billy and Scarlett looking at each other with feelings, and I cried... So I read this book when I was at home, well hidden under my plaid (even if it was summer hot). I don't think another book made me cry so much, but maybe it's because it's a tragic love story and not a romance, and we already know how it ends...

Once again Penny Reid give us a novel that doesn't leave us indifferent, and it promises a very emotional reunion in Beard Necessities .

Résumé : A (brokenhearted) physicist.

3e et dernière partie de cette trilogie, Mona et Abram vivent enfin leur happy ending, non sans avoir quelques petites concessions à faire chacun de leur côté. Car qu'on soit une rock star en tournée où qu'on bosse au CERN de Genève, on pas beaucoup de temps pour se voir ^^.

Tous deux sont très motivés à faire en sorte que leur relation marche, ils parlent beaucoup et voient ensemble comment chacun peut s'arranger dans son emploi du temps chargé pour trouver des moments à passer ensemble. Non seulement, ils font des efforts pour être un couple, mais ils en font aussi pour ne pas oublier totalement leur entourage : Mona a toujours eu une relation compliquée avec sa soeur et son frère et tous trois vont avoir beaucoup de choses à se dire. Et de son côté Abram, essaie de ne pas trop délaisser ses amies et membres de son groupe.

A force de volonté, Mona et Abram trouvent un équilibre toujours en mouvement dans leur propre espace-temps.

(Oui je suis plutôt fière de ma phrase pourrie qui fait un jeu de mots sur les 3 titres de cette série)

Third and last part of this trilogy, Mona and Abram finally have their happy ending, but not without having a few concessions to do. Because wether being a rock star on tour or working at CERN in Geneva, they don't have much time to see each other ^^.

Both are very motivated to make their relationship work, they talk a lot and work together on how they can see each other with their busy schedules. Not only do they make the effort to be a couple, but they also try not to completely forget about their families and friends : Mona has always had a complicated relationship with her sister and her brother and all three of them are going to have a lot to talk about. And Abram tries not to leave behind his friends and members of his group.

Each with an iron-will, Mona and Abram find a balance, always in movement, in their own space-time.

Fluffy

Résumé : It all started with the wrong Help Wanted ad. Of course it did. I’m a professional fluffer. It’s NOT what you think. I stage homes for a living. Real estate agents love me, and my work stands on its own merits. Sigh. Get your mind out of the gutter. Go ahead. Laugh. I’ll wait.

See? That’s the problem. My career has used the term “fluffer” for decades. I didn’t even know there was a more… lascivious definition of the term. Until it was too late. The ad for a “professional fluffer” on Craigslist seemed like divine intervention. My last unemployment check was in the bank. I was desperate. Rent was due. The ad said cash paid at the end of the day. The perfect job!

Staging homes means showing your best angle. The same principle applies in making a certain kind of movie. Turns out a “fluffer” doesn’t arrange decorative pillows on a couch. They arrange other soft, round-ish objects. The job isn’t hard. Er, I mean, it is — it’s about being hard. Or, well… helping other people to be hard.

Oh, man…

And that’s the other problem. A man. No, not one of the stars on the movie set. Will Lotham – my high school crush. The owner of the house where we’re filming. Illegally. In a vacation rental. By the time the cops show up, what I thought was just a great house staging gig turned into a nightmare involving pictures of me with an undressed star, Will rescuing me from an arrest, and a humiliating lesson in my own naivete. My job turned out to be so much harder than I expected. But you know what’s easier than I ever imagined? Having all my dreams come true.


ce roman est sympa et mignon mais pas exceptionnel. le chapitre d'ouverture est tordant avec les doubles sens dans les dialogues et une situation absurde. ensuite ça devient un peu classique, on a toujours quelques bonnes scènes avec les parents de Mallory et ses deux meilleures amies.

le roman est raconté uniquement du point de vue de Mallory, ce qui est dommage car il y a quelques scènes où j'aurais bien aimé savoir que ce Will pensait ^^. l'alchimie entre ces deux-là passe bien, c'est assez drôle dans l'ensemble mais ça aurait pu être plus déjanté, vu le postulat de départ.

this novel is nice and cute but not exceptional. the opening chapter is hilarious with double meanings dialogues and an absurd situation. then it gets a little classic, we always have some good scenes with Mallory's parents and her two best friends.

he novel is written only from Mallory's POV, which is a bit sad because there are some scenes where I would have liked to know what Will is thinking ^^. the alchemy between these two goes well, it's a pretty funny read but it could have been more crazy considering the opening scene.
