heureusement que j'étais en vacances pour lire ce livre car devoir attendre de n'être plus au boulot pour le lire aurait été insupportable (oui bon je sais j'exagère un peu...), car j'ai passé littéralement ma journée à le lire, ne m'arrêtant que pour manger xD

déjà le préquel "Beard With Me" nous a mis dans des conditions émotionnelles fortes, mais alors là Penny Reid nous achève à coup de pelle. Vous pensiez sortir indemne du tome de Billy et Claire/Scarlett ? et ben non, bam premières poussières dans les yeux dès le chapitre 4 ! Et c'est que le début. Nous allons du couinage intensif (sexy Billy qui sort de la salle de bain en serviette ♥) à l'émotion qui nous tombe dessus d'un coup, parce que des gens disent des choses, et si même les persos pleure, comment voulez-vous faire autrement T-T ?

Rassurez-vous, ce roman est certes chargé niveau émotion, mais il est aussi rempli de comique Winstonien : quand toute la fratrie + conjoint.es + enfants se retrouvent tous en vacances en Toscane, il se passe forcément des choses absurdes (c'est pas tout le temps la faute de Cletus xD). Le résumé le dit : toute la famille va se liguer ensemble avec pour seul objectif que Billy et Scarlett finissent ensemble à la fin des vacances. Tous les coups sont permis, toutes les stratégies plus au moins subtiles pour que Billy et Scarlett passent du temps ensemble et se parlent.

Billy et Scarlett ont beaucoup à dire, ils ont passé des années chacun à se morfondre dans leurs actions passées et des conséquences qu'elles ont eu, chacun n'ayant jamais eu la totale vérité sur ce qui s'est passé et sur pourquoi l'autre a agit ainsi (tout ça c'est dans Beard With Me). Le chemin pour arriver au fond des choses ne va pas être une partie de plaisir, ils souffrent tous les deux et ce qu'ils ont à se dire ne leur fait pas forcément plaisir d'emblée... mais ils sont tous les deux très motivés à être avec l'autre, parce qu'ils n'ont jamais cessé de s'aimer *-*

et puis on a des scènes très adorables de Billy et Jethro et de Scarlett et Sienna, et de tous les autres Winston les un avec les autres ♥ Penny nous offre aussi un épilogue digne de ce nom (même si j'ai un peu lâché l'affaire pour savoir quelle marmaille appartenait à qui xD).

bref, ici se clôt la série avec brio, ils vont tous me manquer, mais heureusement que les séries dérivés des Smartypants Romance proposent plein de caméos ^^

Thank Thor I was on vacation to read this book because having to wait to be finished with work to read it would have been unbearable (yes, I know I'm exaggerating a bit...), because I literally spent my day to read it, only stopping to eat xD

The prequel "Beard With Me" had already put us in strong emotional conditions, but here Penny Reid kills us with a shovel. You thought you would be unscathed from the tome of Billy and Claire/Scarlett ? Nooo, first "dust in the eyes" at chapter 4 bam ! And that's only the beginning. We go from intensive squealing (sexy Billy coming out of the bathroom with just a towel ♥) to all the feels that falls on us at once, because people say things, and if the characters are crying, how would not do it too T_T ?

Do not worry, this novel is certainly charged with emotion, but it is also full of Winstonian antics : when all siblings + spouses + children are all on vacation in Tuscany, absurd things happens (and it's not always Cletus' fault xD). The synopsys says it : the whole family is ganging up with the sole objective that Billy and Scarlett are together at the end of the holidays. All tricks are allowed, all strategies, subtle or not, so that Billy and Scarlett spend time together and talk to each other.

Billy and Scarlett have a lot to say, they have spent years moping in their past actions and the consequences they've had, each never having the full truth about what happened and why the other has done so (all this is in Beard With Me). The path to forgiveness is not a pleasant one, they both suffer and what they have to say does not necessarily make them happy right away... but they are both very motivated to be with each other, because they never stopped loving each other *-*

and then we've got really adorable scenes with Billy & Jethro and Scarlett & Sienna, and from all the other Winston's with each other ♥ Penny also offers us an epilogue worthy of the name (even though I gave up to find out what brood belonged to whom xD).

in short, here the series ends brilliantly, I will miss them, but fortunately the series of Smartypants Romance offer plenty of cameos ^^
